INTERNATIONAL ADMISSIONS

 OUR INTERNATIONAL STUDENT  ADMISSIONS PROCESS


San Francisco Christian School accepts international students for grades K-11 (and 12th grade U.S. transfer). Our international school admissions process has 4 steps: application, interview, deposit, and enrollment. The documents required for application are available for download at the bottom of this page. You may mail these documents to Mr. Paul McCreedy (admissions@sfchristianschool.org) our Director of Admissions, and contact him with any questions. 

Our Application:

Submit the required forms by June 20, 2018:
1. Completed International Student Application
2. Copy of Passport and your most recent I-20 (U.S. transfers only)
3. Transcripts (three most recent school years)
4. 2 Recommendation Letters (one from your English teacher and one from the principal)
5. English Proficiency Exam score for non-native English speakers grades 7-11*
6. Proof of Funds*
7. Non-refundable application fee of $200

Skype Interview:

Upon receiving and reviewing your SFCS International Student application materials, you will be contacted to set up your Skype interview. If you pass the interview, SFCS will issue a Letter of Acceptance.


Acceptance and Deposit:

When you receive your Acceptance Letter, please send your non-refundable* $2,500 deposit to secure your place in the class. When SFCS receives your deposit, we will issue your I-20. *(Students that fail their Visa interview twice may send their rejection letters to Mr.  McCreedy at admissions@sfchristianschool.org will receive a $2,000 refund.)

Enrollment:

You will be fully enrolled when the completed International Student Enrollment Contract with requested documents is returned and all remaining tuition is paid in full. The deadline for enrollment is Wednesday, August 1, 2018. A 10% late fee will be charged to all accounts not paid by August 1st.

• Students should plan to arrive in San Francisco two days before International Student Orientation to ease jetlag and facilitate adjustment. When making travel plans, please keep the following dates in mind: first semester ends December 21st; second semester begins January 7th and ends May 23rd.
• A mandatory International Student Orientation will be held on August 13-14, 2018 and will include registration for classes, introduction to the school, and welcome activities.
• High School begins Wednesday, August 15th at 8:30 a.m. Middle School begins Monday, August 20th at 8:30 a.m.
A complete immunization record must be submitted to the Admissions Office at the International Student Orientation. (See http://eziz.org/assets/docs/IMM-222School.pdf for immunizations required by California.)
School uniforms must be purchased from Dennis Uniform (www.dennisuniform.com) on-line or in-store at 590 10th Street, San Francisco, CA 94103 before the first day of classes.
Proof of medical insurance must be submitted to the Admissions Office by August 1st.

*ACCEPTABLE ENGLISH PROFICIENCY EXAMS, SCORES, AND RECOMMENDED GRADE LEVELS: 

TOEFL Junior Standard Test (7th-10th)
Min. score of 645

 iTEP SLATE (7th+) 
Min. score of 3.5 

TOEFL iBT (11th+)
Min. score of 60 

IELTS (11th+)
Band Score of 5                               

All other tests must be approved by San Francisco Christian School prior to acceptance.
*Proof of Funds:
This must be a document (e.g. bank statement) indicating that the student has enough funds to cover one full year at our school (tuition and homestay if needed), regardless of the semester the student is admitted.
